Founding UX Engineer

Location: Onsite in San Francisco

Base Salary Range: Competitive Salary + Equity

We are seeking an exceptional Founding Designer to rapidly develop creative prototypes, deliver world-class UI/UX designs, and shape the user experience of our core products.

About the Role

As our Founding Design Engineer, you'll operate at the forefront of product innovation and user experience design. Like an elite athlete training for peak performance, you'll bring passion, dedication, and relentless drive to your role, quickly building intuitive prototypes and refined interfaces that captivate potential clients and inform product strategy. You'll blend creative vision with hands-on technical execution, actively shaping the direction and impact of UniversalAGI's products.

Key Responsibilities

Creative and Impressive Designs

• Able to come up with and implement very creative design ideas that WOWs customers

Rapid Prototyping & Execution

• Quickly design and develop functional prototypes for product demos, enabling the company to showcase capabilities to enterprise and government clients.

• Apply strong design principles and a user-centered approach to produce intuitive, attractive, and effective prototypes.

UI/UX Design for Core Products

• Own end-to-end UI/UX design for core products, ensuring elegant, user-friendly, and visually compelling interfaces.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate seamless user experiences within technically complex AI-driven platforms.

• Regularly engage with potential clients and stakeholders to gather feedback, iteratively refining designs based on real-world insights.

User-Centric Innovation & Design Thinking

• Champion the voice of the user, continuously refining user journeys, interface flows, and interaction patterns.

• Lead design thinking workshops and processes, fostering a culture of innovation, creativity, and experimentation within the team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work hand-in-hand with product management, engineering, and business teams to align design strategies with product goals and client expectations.

• Clearly communicate design rationales and concepts to diverse stakeholders, building consensus and driving alignment.

Qualifications

• Outstanding execution velocity and delivery

• Strong portfolio showcasing rapid prototyping skills, design thinking, and exceptional UI/UX outcomes.

• Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.

• Ability to quickly translate complex concepts into intuitive and engaging user experiences.

• Solid technical understanding to effectively collaborate with engineering teams.

• Exceptional creativity, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.

• Comfortable working in high-intensity, fast-paced startup environments with evolving priorities and tight deadlines.

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for additional benefits and incentives, including equity, health benefits, retirement plans, and others described below.
