The Senior Color Designer is among the most critical roles in Apparel Product Creation. This role will work with the Creative Leaders at HOKA to develop seasonal palettes based on trend, defining and augmenting HOKA’s identity within the marketplace, and ultimately coloring product to serve the style needs of the range of HOKA consumers. The primary functions of this role include creating color stories that meet category needs and align with overall brand creative direction, creating and maintaining color CADS for Apparel Line, ensuring accurate information is handed off to development counterparts, working closely with apparel design and product development to understand materials choices and design limitations maintaining specific pricing goals, supporting leadership on seasonal inspiration planning and color palette build out, contributing color insights as well as brand level direction, working collaboratively with Apparel designers to deliver color and material finishes that celebrate their work, collaborating closely with development and PLM team to design products to meet product briefs at target cost, working with development and material team to ensure color execution matches intention, and having high level knowledge of current consumer and market trends and the ability to interpret those trends into commercial product. Requirements include passion and knowledge about apparel and apparel trends, ability to effectively prepare and present information visually, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, excellent project management and organizational skills, knowledge of product design and construction techniques, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the fashion industry, 7+ years related apparel color design experience, experience creating CADS and merchandising boards, advanced understanding of Apparel construction and process, and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote with openness to learning Keyshot or 3D software as needed.
