About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist  to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations.Aquila Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Software Quality Assurance Engineer to support the development and sustainment of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems. This role will focus on developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites for PLM software, ensuring the reliability and integrity of mission-critical digital engineering tools used across the org. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise web applications, automation tools, and quality assurance methodologies in an agile environment

There are a few requirements for the position:

  • Must be a U.S Citizen- Must be able to obtain an Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
  • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
  • Although this position is REMOTE candidate must be within 100 miles of worksite (Lexington, MA) to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for PLM software and associated services
  • Work closely with developers, system engineers, and end-users to define test cases and acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain regression test suites for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Identify, log, and track software defects using various tools
  • Participate in code reviews and design reviews with a focus on testability and reliability
  • Create and maintain documentation for test plans, test cases, and test results
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback to development teams for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and infrastructure
  • Review the solution to identify potential downstream impacts and identify the needed regression testing

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation
  • Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, SQL) in order to create automated test scripts from scratch
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, Cypress, or similar. Playwright is the preferred tool.
  • Experience testing enterprise web applications and REST APIs, XML
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
  • ISTQB or other software testing certifications

Location: Candidate will be onsite 2 days/wk (including a mandatory Wednesday onsite day) with 3 days remote

Clearance Level: Interim clearance is sufficient to start
