Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our client's team at a thriving local company in the Bronx. This role blends strategic vision with hands-on responsibilities to ensure the success of all HR functions across our corporate and production teams. With primary oversight of approximately 300 employees across diverse business units, the HR Manager will set the tone for an inclusive, high-performing company culture, develop and execute HR initiatives, and lead a small but impactful team, including one HR Generalist.

Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership:

  • Serve as a thought partner to senior management, providing guidance and recommendations on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management strategies.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, practices, and initiatives that align with company goals while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Drive initiatives to foster an engaged, inclusive, and innovative workplace culture, building on key employee engagement and retention metrics.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on talent management programs, including succession planning and leadership development.

Hands-On HR Management:

  • Oversee and manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Partner with department heads to ensure effective employee performance management strategies, including coaching and feedback sessions, as well as handling disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts for key roles while supporting the HR Generalist with day-to-day recruitment activities.
  • Handle employee relations issues, conducting investigations and resolving disputes in a fair, compliant, and timely manner.
  • Develop and deliver training programs tailored to both corporate and production environments to support employee development and compliance adherence.

Collaborative Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the HR Generalist, fostering growth and ensuring alignment of day-to-day HR operations with strategic goals.
  • Build relationships across the organization, creating trust and ensuring HR is viewed as an accessible and effective resource by employees at every level.
  • Serve as a bridge between corporate and production staff, ensuring equitable HR support and consistent communication across all functions.

Metrics and Compliance:

  • Track and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement scores, DE&I metrics, and headcount) to continuously improve HR practices and align them with the company’s business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and industry regulations applicable to both corporate and production environments.

Qualifications :

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Spanish is a non-negotiable requirement due to the diverse needs of our workforce.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including management-level experience and prior exposure to corporate and production workforce environments. Experience in the CPG industry is highly preferred.
  • Leadership and Coaching: Proven ability to lead HR initiatives, coach managers, and make high-impact decisions in dynamic environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and data analysis tools.
