Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a full-time Director, Fleet to manage, supervise, and direct all associated activity of fleet operations for NEP US Broadcast Services to ensure that the department efficiently meets both NEP’s business objectives and our client’s needs. Candidates must be located near Pittsburgh, or willing to relocate to that area. Key duties include:

  • Supervise the Fleet Department consisting of a Fleet Managers, Fleet maintenance coordinators, Mobile Unit Drivers and Independent Contract Drivers while establishing a leadership role in the corporation as an expert in fleet related issues
  • Effectively mentor the staff by developing their skill sets, providing appropriate objectives and goals to meet, evaluating their progress, and suggesting methods by which they can meet their objectives and goals.
  • Maintain all relevant information regarding mobile units including size, measurements, settings, etc. and furnish comprehensive reports
  • Work with all vendors pertaining to maintenance negotiating costs of repairs, deadlines, contracts and renewals and other related activity.
  • Coordinate all leasing activity, including working with the finance department to establish new and maintain current leases. In addition, ensure that vendors adhere to federal regulations and NEP requirements.
  • Ensure that all vehicle, driver and related regulations are met as regulate through the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA).
  • Review all fleet activity including trip and technical reports and recommend changes if necessary to ensure transportation of mobile units and personnel at minimum cost consistent with sound operating practices.

What You Will Need:

  • Must have Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics Management, Engineering, or related field. Any combination of training, education and experience in fleet management will be considered.
  • At least 10 years’ experience managing fleet operations in a similar environment required.
  • In-depth knowledge and operation of computers and software packages. Windows-based PC knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of budgets, ordinances, practices, procedures, and terminology needed.
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration requirements as well as other federal, state and applicable requirements.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
